Trainer exercise. transitions in football

TITLE: TRANSITIONS

MATERIAL: BIBS, CHINS, BALLS

SPACE: 80x55

DURATION: 2 SETS OF 8 MIN. THEN ROLE CHANGE

DESCRIPTION: we play in 2 spaces an 11vs11. A team attacks from the start

structure of 8 vs 7 in 1 zone, and in the other they are waiting 2vs3. It is about blues scoring a goal

in positional attack and if red recovers the ball look for players in the other zone and

quickly attack the other goal. As a provocation rule it is allowed that 1 or 2 players

Blues enter the front area to compensate for the inferiority of the 2 centrals against the 3

attackers.

OBJECTIVES:

BLUES

  • identify free man
  • compensators: pivot or lateral weak side, or both
  • relationship distances
  • pressure after loss

REDS

  • be recognized as the first receiver
  • fast passing lanes (short transitions in time)
  • off the hook break into space or come to active zone
  • finish plays avoid disorder.
