OFFENSIVE PHASE BEFORE LOW BLOCK

TITLE: OFFENSIVE PHASE BEFORE LOW BLOCK

MATERIAL: BIBS, CHINS, 4 SMALL GOALS, BALLS

SPACE: 60x55

DURATION: 2 SETS OF 7 MIN. THEN ROLE CHANGE

DESCRIPTION: One team pretends to be withdrawn in a low block with a 1-4-4-2 system and another one attacks with a 1-4-3-3 structure. The withdrawn blues defend their assigned areas until the ball crosses their last line. Then they can defend any area of the field. The reds have the same areas except for 2 outside areas that always have to be occupied by at least one player to keep the team wide. After stealing blues score a goal in one of the small goals. Always reset red.

OBJECTIVES:

REDS (1-4-3-3)

  • lean out to fixate or hide to be a receiver
  • identify as mediate recipient
  • clean lines to receive in the outer corridor and look for 1vs1
  • weak side compensates possible loss

BLUES (1-4-4-2)

  • first stalker defines strong side
  • Defensive orientations
  • Lines together to prevent them from playing behind their backs
  • interline communication
